The Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the SwissCham China and the Swiss-Chinese Association are delighted to invite you to a Fact-Finding Mission to Guizhou Province in China on March 25th to 30th, 2019. The purpose of the mission is to acquire a deeper understanding and additional knowledge about the economy and culture of this region, to meet the potential partners, and to explore the market opportunities in Guizhou.

Guizhou and Switzerland have a lot of similarities on both the geographic and the economic level. Indeed both regions share a similar topology as well as their success in trade investment partnerships, their ongoing industrial development and the implementation of measures to ensure environmental protection.


Guizhou, with a 35 million population, was once one of the poorest and less developed provinces in China and is transforming now into the “Big Data Valley” of China, thanks to the support from the central government. Indeed, large companies have set up big data centres in this province; between 2012-2016, there were 134 world-renowned companies investing in Guizhou, including IBM, Alibaba, Qualcomm, Tencent, Foxconn, Microsoft and China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom. Apple is expected to open its first data storage centre there by 2022. Guizhou’s GDP growth was 12% in 2016 and 15% in 2017 and will continue to be among China’s fastest growing provinces. Guiyang, the capital city of the Guizhou province, with a crucial role in the Belt & Road Initiative, has become a transportation and communication centre for Southwestern China and Southeast Asia. The area also has the advantage of offering preferential policies to foreign investors in order to enrich its economic ecosystem.


The mission includes Guizhou-Switzerland business cooperation meeting, seminar and networking, company visit, as well as cultural tours. The meeting, supported by the Guiyang National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, will provide a platform for companies who are interested in investing or exploring market opportunities in Guizhou in the IT industry (especially big data), Cloud Computing, Pharmaceutical & Health Care Industry, Engineering & Manufacturing, Modern Mountainous Agriculture Industry, Finance, Legal, Culture & Tourism Industry. The aim of the meeting is to facilitate business development between Swiss and Chinese companies, initiating projects by meeting potential cooperation partners. Company visits will give you the rare and exclusive chance to visit facilities or new projects. The host will share its expertise and best practices in specific field with our guests.


Guizhou is one of the provinces in China who has the most diverse ethnic groups. The cultural tour will provide you with the chance to experience their traditional life style, including local food and festivals, buildings, as well as the fantastic nature landscape.

Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce

The Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) is a facilitator of sustainable economic relationships between Switzerland and the People’s Republic of China. The Chamber helps to establish and develop successful business interactions between Swiss and Chinese companies.

The Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce maintains close ties with Swiss and Chinese authorities,  with economic associations and companies and with the media. It acts as an intermediary when difficulties arise and provides insight into all aspects of Swiss-Chinese economic relations. It issues reports and assessments on the subjects of trade and economic policy. The SCCC does not comment on political topics.

The Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce is present in all parts of Switzerland. It is the point of contact and the networking platform for Swiss and Chinese individuals and companies. It promotes communication among its members by organizing regular events and by making use of digital communication platforms.

SwissCham China
Founded in 1996, the SwissCham China is the only Swiss NGO to receive a business license from the Chinese government. The first office opened in Beijing provided a new dimension and scope for Sino-Swiss Chamber of Commerce's cooperation and business activities, strengthened the issuance of Sino-Swiss bonds, and provided a platform for cooperation between business people in Switzerland and China. . In 1980, the former Swiss Ambassador to China Dr. Uli Sigg and a group of business people set up the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) in Zurich. A liaison office was established in Shanghai in 1997 and a liaison office was established in Guangzhou in 2006. The Swisscham China is a communication and information platform for Swiss companies in China and Chinese companies with business in Switzerland. Our main purpose is to bring all members of the Sino-Swiss business community together on this platform to strengthen political and economic ties between the two countries, promote mutual cooperation and open up business opportunities.
Swiss-Chinese Association (SCA)

Established in 1945, SCA main purposes are: increase awareness of, curiosity about and interest in China and the Chinese people in particular among its members as well as other interested parties and individuals in Switzerland; establish and maintain friendly relationships between Swiss and Chinese people and institutions; promote and strengthen the cooperation between both countries especially in the fields of culture, science and economy.

Following activities are proposed: organizing or supporting lectures, exhibitions, special events; welcoming Chinese delegations; establishing and maintaining contact with Chinese living in Switzerland; publishing the magazine Ruizhong; fostering active friendship, cooperation and relations with various Swiss and Chinese organizations with similar interests and goals.

All members of the board work as volunteers. Currently the association has about 600 individual and institutional members.


CCPIT Guizhou

Established in 1982, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guizhou Province is a regional economic and trade promotion organization, which is composed of delegates from government departments concerned as well as representative personages, enterprises or corporations, groups from economic and trade circles in Guizhou Province. According to the laws, regulations and government policies of the People’s Republic of China, the objectives of the CCPIT Guizhou Province are to promote trade, investment, economic and technological cooperation between Guizhou and other countries and regions around the world, enhance the mutual understanding and friendship of the peoples and economic and trade circles between Guizhou and the rest of the world.
