From the desk of our SHKBA President

Dear Members and Friends

During the last quarter our AGM took place and I was delighted to see some many members attending. Thank you so much for your continuous support. I am also pleased to report that Daniel Meyer was elected to the Board of Directors where his firsthand experience of living and working in Hong Kong as well as other Asian countries will be a great add-on.

I recently came across an interesting article written by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin which very nicely captures some of the latest achievements, mainly (quote)

“The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) has reaffirmed Hong Kong as one of the world's most competitive economies, moving up two spots to third place in its latest World Competitiveness Yearbook.
  1. According to the World Investment Report 2025 from UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Hong Kong also ranked the third in terms of foreign direct investment inflows in 2024 (US$126 billion).
  2. Hong Kong is the only city with five universities in the top 100 of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.
  3. Hong Kong's tourism appeal is equally compelling.
  4. Adding to its allure, Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong's premier multi-purpose sports, entertainment and mega event complex, was recently opened in March”(unquote)
So, there are many good reasons to have HK on your strategic map.

We, at SHKBA, are happy to assist you in your Swiss-Hong Kong business activities. We are just a call (or email) away.

Wishing you a relaxing summer break

Best wishes

Marcel Schmid
