Dear members of SCCC

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is upon us, and we can see the usual positioning and regulatory tightening. Which of these will stay and which ones will be temporary?

With the US challenging China's approach to US tech companies operating in China we can see turbulences and discussions regarding intellectual property rights for months to come. What is the impact on Europe and Switzerland?

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is a great opportunity for Switzerland's tourism and winter sport industry. What is the best positioning, should one focus on the next 4 years or rather take a long-term perspective for when the Chinese citizens have taken up winter sports as an activity for the masses?

And then there is the Belt and Road initiative. Stepping away from the usual questions how Swiss companies can enter the Chinese market, one might ask how Chinese companies can improve their products and services with Swiss technology.

These are thoughts and topics regarding which we believe the SCCC is best positioned to help Swiss and Chinese companies finding answers. We invite you to join the discussions that will shape the platforms, frameworks and events that will further the economic growth and cooperation between the two countries. If you are interested in these topics, YOUR participation at the China Market Fair on October 27, 2017 is a must!

Best regards,

Felix Sutter
