Dear members of SCCC

With the start of the New Year, I would like to wish you all a prosperous, healthy and fulfilling 2018.

Many of us have resolutions that need to be turned into action. SCCC has planned plenty of projects and initiatives that require your capabilities and experience – and we are glad to be of assistance in making your resolutions a lasting and beneficial reality. Get in touch with the board member that you believe will profit most from your experience and collaboration.

2018 has started with a full plate of events to attend. The most important ones for the first six months of the year are the Chinese Embassy’s information on the Import Fair on January 15 in Bern, and the SCCC AGM followed by the third RMB Internationalisation Seminar on June 14, for which an impressive list of speakers has already confirmed their participation, including representatives from SIX, CCB, HSBC, Schindler, and PwC. Register now to benefit from the early bird attendance fee.

Furthermore, on Friday May 11, 2018 we will organize a memorial for the Sichuan earthquake at LongXing/SWISS Community Reconstruction Project. For the first time, SCCC is organising a business mission to China starting on May 7, and we will visit Chengdu and Chongqing. The memorial is jointly organised with the Swiss Counsol General in Chengdu and the local government. All Swiss companies and individuals that participated in the project in 2008-10 as well as the Swiss companies that have since then started operations and interests in Western China will be invited to attend. The business mission is organised with the help of CCPIT and Sino Swiss Technology Park Chongqing. Check out the draft event programme on our website and register for the business mission or the memorial only. More details will follow soon.

The SCCC’s board will hold a strategy review offsite meeting. Please let us know what has worked well so far and which topics we should address in the future by sending an email to info@sccc.ch.

I wish you a good start into January and I hope to see many of you at the Chinese New Year Concert on January 26 in Luzern at the KKL.

Best regards,

Felix Sutter
