Dear Members and Friends
What a long way from our first memories of 滑雪 in 八达岭 to today’s
Olympic Games in 北京. We are glad to see this amazing
winter sports event in Beijing, attended by 168 Swiss athletes. Hopp Schwiiz!
May these Olympic Games be a fair and friendly exchange between our ski, hockey,
and skeleton nation and China. Your Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce is here
to help you harvest this unique opportunity with a group of dedicated
specialists. We strongly recommend that you to get in touch with our winter
sports members.
We are pleased
to present a lively agenda with two unique chamber events: a conference on
China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) in February, and a Swiss-Chinese
Life Sciences Forum in March. Later in the quarter we will organize more events
that you won’t want to miss: metaverse, special banking, green carbon
neutrality, and entrepreneurs’ meetings in small groups.
We are
listening to your frequent nudge about traveling to China. We will share with
you a glimpse of hope as soon as we receive news from the Chinese embassy.
For this
new year, 春节, may the power of the Tiger, 虎, fuel your business!

China cut its benchmark lending rate for the second consecutive month on Thursday in the latest move to shore up the cooling economy, while also lowering a mortgage reference rate for the first time in nearly two years.

Nearly 170 Swiss athletes are due to attend the Winter Games which are due to begin next week while the Swiss government says it will not attend the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing due to begin next week.
