Pandemic. Spiraling inflation. Geopolitical tensions around the globe. Climate change... All these crises coupled with the exponential development of AI are shaking up the traditional investment paradigms we have become accustomed to since 2008 -  be it the TINA predicate, the resilience of the balanced 60/40 portfolio, the dependency of global growth on fossil energies...

In this context, when a financial compass is more than ever welcome, we would like to highlight Asia which we firmly believe stands out as a huge investment opportunity, especially through the prism of Alternative investment.

Thanks to its Asian roots, the Singaporean-based Conduit Group regulated with dual licences in Singapore and with a strategic alliance onshore in China, will be eager to share with you three of its core Asia & Alternative co-investment strategies.

David Mitchell

David Mitchell

Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Auctus Metal Portfolios

David is a co-founder and partner at Auctus Metal Portfolios, where he holds the roles of Strategic Operations Solutions Advisor and Chairman.

His professional journey began in the early 1980s, working as a computer coder for NM Rothschilds before transitioning to their Treasury division, working on the Money Market and FX desks.

Over the course of his career, David ascended to the position of chief dealer at prominent institutions such as Swiss Bank Corp, Bank of America, HSBC, and ultimately HypoVereins bank. His responsibilities encompassed overseeing emerging markets and G7 in FX and Forwards. In the latter part of his career, he assumed the role of head of the Proprietary Trading desk.

In late 2006, David departed from investment banking to establish his own company, dedicated to investing and managing both his family's funds and those of multiple clients. Notably, he achieved significant success in investment and trading during the Global Financial Crisis from 2008 to 2010, expanding client portfolios across several asset classes.

Motivated by a steadfast commitment to his very long-term macro-economic outlook, David returned to Singapore, where he embarked on founding several enterprises. Among them are IPM Group Singapore, Auctus Metal Portfolios Singapore (in partnership with GBA Australia), and Bullion Software Solutions Singapore.
