Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra 50th Anniversary International Tour in Basel

In the HK Phil commissioned work Asterismal Dance by Daniel Lo, distinctive musical materials traverse the different instrumental sections of the orchestra non-linearly, like the scattered stars in the sky. The delicate passages and elegant melodies in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 4 showcase the brilliant artistry of Alexandre Kantorow, who has been hailed as the “young tsar of the keyboard”. The concert concludes with Brahms’ Symphony no. 1, full of emotional depth and orchestral grandeur.
