The SCCC Advocacy Committee is pleased to invite you to an exclusive China Policy + Strategy Luncheon on April 10, 2025. This event will focus on China’s evolving strategic business environment ahead of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030)

, offering insights critical to Swiss and European businesses operating in or engaging with China.

We are honored to welcome Markus Herrmann and WANG Hailin from China Macro Group (CMG), who will provide expert input on key policy and strategic developments. The luncheon will serve two key objectives:

1. Strategic Policy Briefing

Gain valuable insights into China’s long-term development priorities and external positioning, with a focus on:
  • China’s evolved development strategy – What to expect from the 15th Five-Year Plan and China’s economic trajectory
  • Key reform priorities – Upcoming policy shifts that could impact business operations
  • Geopolitical factors – How global dynamics are influencing Swiss and European companies in China

2. Discussion about the Advocacy Committee & SCCC’s Role

The event will also mark the first step in shaping the committee’s advocacy approach. Given the increasingly complex regulatory and geopolitical landscape, SCCC is committed to supporting its members in navigating key policy challenges. This discussion aims to:
  • Identify potential advocacy needs among SCCC members
  • Explore how SCCC can effectively complement existing advocacy channels (e.g., industry associations, business federations)
  • Define the possible development of SCCC-led advocacy initiatives, such as position papers or cross-industry top-issue lists, ensuring a pragmatic and value-driven approach throughout 2025
