Yixing purple clay teapots to shine in Switzerland

The Olympic themed purple clay teapots exhibition is set to take place in Switzerland's Olympic Museum in March this year, according to the press conference held in Yingxing, Jiangsu province on Jan 2.

The exhibition will present 22 purple clay teapots made by Lyu Junjie, an emerging leader in Chinese purple clay teapots circle.

"Art is without borders and as one of China's intangible cultural heritages, purple clay art belongs to China and also to the world," Lyu Junjie said at the press conference. "My creations share China's story to the world at the Olympic Museum."

Lyu is also good at martial arts. He usually applies the principle of martial arts to the making of teapots, which has the elegance of academism and also shows the traces of casual impressionic school.

This collection of Lyu's teapots reflects the perfect integration of sports elements with Chinese purple clay art. He integrates the movement in sports into the making of purple clay teapots to present sports' movement and stillness in an abstract way.
